With the weather gradually improving and the days becoming longer, brighter, and warmer this is the perfect time of year to take your workout into the great outdoors. Below are some great reasons for why you should be exercising outdoors.

Exposure to the sun’s rays releases a hormone called serotonin in the brain. This is associated with boosting your mood and helping you feel calm and focused. This combined with the endorphins your body releases when you exercise can make you feel on top of the world!
Rather than staring at the same 4 grey walls in the gym with 100 other sweaty people, take your workout outside and stimulate your mind as well as your body with outdoor exercise. An increasing amount of research shows outdoor activity is great for the mind and can help to combat anxiety and stress.
Combining the machines at your local installation (which can be found here) with the open space surrounding it and you will find different surfaces that you can’t find in a gym, flexing limbs in different ways to handle it. That must be more exciting than a treadmill with a rerun of Friends in the background.
