For this blog, we are specifically looking at the Rower, the Combi and the Elliptical Cross Trainer in both sizes.
Rowing engages around 85% of your muscles. It works the legs, core, back and arms, helping build both strength and endurance.
Our Fresh Air Fitness Self-Weighted Rower is expertly designed to offer an outdoor alternative to a traditional indoor rowing machine.
With no cables, dials or electronic parts, our self-weighted rowers are easy to use and extremely durable. They’re ideal for park gyms where robustness and longevity matters.
The fact that the Rower is self-weighted means that your resistance is created by your own body weights. This, coupled with how much effort you put in, alows beginners to start gently, while more experienced users can push harder for a more intense workout - all on the same piece of equipment!

The Children’s Rower was developed by our design team following our new product trials and the extremely positive feedback and demand we received from schools who took part.
Specially designed for children and 30% smaller than the adult size, the Children’s Rower is our smaller version of the adult piece of equipment.
It targets the same areas as the adult version, exercising the whole body, developing upper body and core strength, balance, flexibility and improving overall cardiovascular fitness.
The rower is a very intuitive piece of outdoor gym equipment to operate, and it allows children to jump on, get started straight away and begin to develop their confidence in fitness.
Technical Details
Regular cardiovascular exercise strengthens your heart and lungs, improving your body's ability to use oxygen efficiently. Over time, this can lower your resting heart rate as your heart becomes more efficient at pumping blood. Essentially, your heart becomes stronger, just like any other muscle you train!
The Adult Cardio Combi is a versatile piece of outdoor gym equipment designed to deliver a comprehensive cardiovascular workout.
It combines the Double Air Walker with the Air Skier into one compact unit, allowing users to work different muscle groups simultaneously. The fluid, low-impact movements help improve heart health, coordination, endurance, and overall fitness without putting excessive pressure on joints.

Our Children’s Cardio Combi can be used independently or by up to 4 children which allows different abilities to exercise together and motivate and support one another.

The Children’s Elliptical Cross Trainer is a safe and effective way for children to stay active, offering low impact exercise that is gentle on growing joints.
This exciting piece of child-sized outdoor gym equipment provides a full body workout, whilst developing natural strength, coordination and cardiovascular fitness.
The smooth, stable motion supports balance and allows children to build confidence at their own pace as well as encouraging healthy habits out in the fresh air and daylight.
With its simple, intuitive design, kids can set their own pace and switch between forward and reverse motion to target different muscle groups. We have found that they particularly love the fun challenge of coordinating their arms and legs as they build strength and confidence!

At Fresh Air Fitness, our adult range is built around the average UK adult height of 169cm, while our children’s equipment is scaled to suit the average height of an
8-year-old at 126cm which sits neatly between Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 age groups at Primary School.
Both ranges feature smart design details like elongated handles and spacious footplates, ensuring users of all sizes can enjoy the freedom and comfort of outdoor gym exercise.
