Fresh Air Fitness worked closely with the school to deliver a complex 19-User installation, within term time, allowing the facility to open for the pupils at the earliest opportunity.
Wimbledon Chase is a large primary school based in Southwest London, committed to creating engaging and active outdoor environments for its pupils.
The school wanted to revitalise an ageing outdoor play area and invest in a modern facility that would encourage physical activity, social interaction and inclusive play opportunities for children of all ages and abilities.
Fresh Air Fitness worked closely with the school to deliver a complex installation, within term time, which meant the facility could be available for pupils at the earliest opportunity.
The school had several pre-existing wooden trim-trail pieces, which had deteriorated and needed removing safely.
As well as removal of the old trim trail kit, the mulch surfacing had deteriorated over time and was now uneven, so our specialist team, through our initial free consultation process, assessed the groundwork needs and made recommendations.
Our initial discussions also provided the school with a range of options and packages for their senior leadership team to choose from based on their specific requirements - which were to allow large groups of pupils to exercise and enjoy the outdoor gym equipment together.
A brand-new 19-user outdoor gym was installed, centred around the innovative Fresh Air Fitness Children's Fitness Rig, along with the NEW Children's Big Six, a Double Cross Country Skier, Seated Leg Press and Hip Twister. Smart, new mulch surfacing was laid to replace the old crumbling surfacing and create a fresh, outdoor gym zone for all to enjoy!
The school also commissioned the installation of two exciting Fresh Air Fitness Outdoor Table Tennis Table, creating a fun and engaging space for social interaction while helping students develop hand-eye coordination, agility, concentration, and mental alertness — all while enjoying an excellent cardiovascular workout.
Our Fresh Air Fitness Children’s Fitness Rig provides 5 unique fitness stations including:
• Air Skier
• Monkey Bars
• Seated Leg Press
• T'ai Chi Spinners
• And an inclusive Arm Bike
The Fresh Air Fitness Children's Big Six, is the newest product in the Children’s range. Already popular, this 6-user inclusive product consists of two Air Skier platforms at each end, a Double Air Walker, T'ai Chi Spinners and an Arm Bike, which can be used by wheelchair users.
The gym was completed with the following pieces of equipment: • Double Cross Country Skier • Seated Leg Press • Hip Twister • 2 x Table Tennis Table
