A brand new, 7-piece, 12 user Fresh Air Fitness outdoor gym with a full mix of cardio and strength pieces - plus a wheelchair accessible arm and pedal bike.
When we first spoke with Doveridge Parish Council, they were exploring a variety of options for an outdoor gym provision to enhance their playing fields.
With a popular football pitch and children’s playground already in situ, the Parish Council felt that a state-of-the-art outdoor gym facility would be the perfect addition.
The new outdoor gym facility had to provide the wider community with a fun and engaging way to exercise for free.
The fitness equipment had to look enticing and be easy to use, with clear, permanent signage and good quality labelling with instructions for use.
The outdoor gym needed to be designed for use by adults of all fitness abilities and offer a range of equipment which provided cardiovascular, strength and resistance training.
This new ‘outdoor gym hub’ should also encourage social integration, accessibility and inclusion, where friends, neighbours, sports teams and groups could get together and enjoy exercise outdoors in the fresh air.
Fresh Air Fitness installed a 7-piece, 12 user gym with a full mix of cardio and strength pieces - plus a wheelchair accessible arm and pedal bike.
The gym was completed with a grass mat surface – which is very hard wearing, great for grip and lets the natural grass grow through for a natural looking finish.
To launch the new outdoor gym equipment Fresh Air Fitness attended an open day where our team demonstrated how to use the equipment and gave some handy workout hints and tips to the local community who will be able to enjoy their outdoor gym for many years to come.
