COUNCILS
A brand-new Fresh Air Fitness outdoor gym has been installed at Jubilee Field, creating an exciting new space for the local community to enjoy.
Managed by Witley and Milford Parish Council, Jubilee Field is a large green space, which the local community loves, and it includes a playground and junior football pitches.
At the heart of the community, the field is frequently used for local community gatherings such as the Milford Village Fete, cricket matches, football matches and music events!
The parish council contacted our specialist team to remove the old wooden trim trail and replace it with a brand-new Fresh Air Fitness outdoor gym.
The gym was made possible thanks to Section 106 funds from the nearby Cala housing development and the councillors were delighted to be able to offer the new facility which they explained had been eagerly awaited by the community for many years.
This project would present several unique challenges, from removing the large, deteriorated wooden trim trail and carrying out extensive groundworks, to installing a state of the art, multi-piece outdoor gym with a wet pour surface.
Bespoke, inclusive equipment, would be needed in order to ensure the space catered for the whole community, while careful project planning would be essential to guarantee completion in time for the parish’s summer fair, despite challenging weather conditions!
We held a wonderful launch day in June and Waverley Borough Council Mayor, David Munro and Councillor Maxine Gale cut the ribbon and officially opened the gym equipment to the public.
The new outdoor gym zone brings together a carefully selected mix of cardio, strength and functional fitness equipment, creating a well-rounded space that the community has been eagerly anticipating for many years but had previously lacked the funding opportunity.
The equipment focuses on providing a full body workout and cardio-focused pieces installed include the Fresh Air Fitness Air Skier, Double Air Walker, Cross Country Skier, Elliptical Cross Trainer, Rower and wheelchair accessible Arm & Pedal Bike, plus the Seated Leg Press and Leg Lift Station which build lower-body and core strength. The Seated Chest Press / Pull Down Challenger Station adds further versatility for bodyweight and functional exercises, encouraging users of all ages and abilities to enjoy a complete full-body workout.
The community now has full access to an inclusive, accessible and exciting fitness zone that promotes healthier lifestyles and can be used by the public for free, all year round.
“It was a really good day and I was particularly delighted to see the installation of Adult Gym equipment as it must be 20 odd years people have been asking for something like this and the Section 106 funds from the Milford Golf Course site have made it possible.” – Councillor Maxine Gale
By working closely with parish councils from consultation through to installation, Fresh Air Fitness creates tailored outdoor gym spaces that maximise available budgets while encouraging regular physical activity, social interaction and improved wellbeing.
Our thoughtfully designed fitness zones become valuable community assets, transforming underused spaces into vibrant destinations that support healthier lifestyles for years to come.
