A new outdoor gym, carefully designed to meet the needs of the community has been opened!
Brinklow Parish Council identified an opportunity to enhance the social and exercise opportunities for the community at their playing field. Whilst the facility catered for team sports and young children, there was a gap for teenagers. To make the space suitable for the whole community, the opportunity to add an outdoor gym was the perfect solution.
As a protected green space, the location of the outdoor gym installation needed to be carefully considered and the design needed to blend seamlessly with the natural environment. The gym needed to provide a mixture of equipment suitable for all ages and abilities and be inviting and easy to use. The facility intended to provide a free to use, sociable space to enjoy outdoor exercise and help the community to get fitter and healthier.
Brinklow Parish Council funded the installation with a combination of self-funding and a grant issued by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. It was important that project costs were clear, upfront and with no hidden costs.
Fresh Air Fitness was selected as the best supplier for the outdoor gym project due to their market leading equipment, in attractive colours that blend well in the environment, delivered in a cost-effective package that included delivery and installation. The project team also requested the addition of ‘grass matts’ rubber matting to protect the grass and allow year-round use with its practical, anti-slip surface.
Brinklow Parish Council selected the Park Package from Fresh Air Fitness. This package bundle comes with 6 exciting pieces of outdoor gym equipment, providing 11 user stations all for ONLY £6500. The equipment includes:

Each individual piece of gym equipment is designed to be integrated into a great workout session, simple to use and provide physical benefits such as muscle strength, cardio fitness, flexibility, balance, and co-ordination. The package provides a full body workout and a perfect hub for healthy social interaction in the community
