New for 2026, our Design and Development team is delighted to launch the Resistance Arm Bike (Accessible) - part of the brand-new 2026 Resistance Range.
Designed to bring accessible, progressive cardiovascular exercise to outdoor spaces, the Resistance Arm Bike combines simple hand-pedalling with intelligent resistance that automatically increases as users pedal faster – providing a workout that adapts to every level of ability.

At the heart of our Resistance Arm Bike is its built-in progressive resistance system.
The faster you cycle the handles, the greater the resistance becomes. This means users don’t need to manually select resistance levels before starting a workout — the bike naturally responds to an increase in speed, making the exercise intuitive and easy to control.
For someone new to exercise, the Resistance Arm Bike provides a simple way to get started, with the level of challenge increasing naturally as strength and ability develop over time. For more experienced users, increasing speed immediately creates a more demanding cardiovascular and upper-body workout.
The Resistance Arm Bike is designed to accommodate a broad range of abilities and fitness levels, while its low-impact design helps minimise stress on the joints.
The Resistance Arm Bike provides an effective cardiovascular workout, helping users raise their heart rate into their training zone while exercising the upper body. .
In terms of strength and muscular endurance, the primary areas worked include the arms, shoulders and upper back, while the core and lower back are also engaged during exercise.
The Resistance Arm Bike can help users maintain aerobic fitness, making it particularly beneficial for people with a lower-body injury, knee problems, or those who use a wheelchair.
Users stand or sit and cycle the handles forwards or backwards. Alternating directions balances muscle development and delays fatigue by switching between pushing and pulling movements.
Cycling forwards primarily targets the chest, front shoulders and triceps, while reversing the motion shifts the focus towards the upper back, rear shoulders and biceps. Combining both directions helps distribute the workload across different muscle groups, supports a sustained cardiovascular effort and can help develop postural strength..
The Resistance Arm Bike is highly versatile and can be incorporated into a variety of training sessions. It can be used as part of a warm-up or cool-down, incorporated into circuit training, or used for interval training by alternating periods of faster, harder pedalling with slower recovery periods.
We have been designing, manufacturing and installing outdoor gyms in the UK since 2007 and as part of our range we have incorporated key pieces which support cardio, strength and functional training for people with reduced mobility or disabilities.
Using the Resistance Arm Bike, seated in a wheelchair, offers a range of benefits that can support physical fitness and overall wellbeing.
