and get the same physical benefits!

Clichés can often feel overused, annoying and abit illogical. I mean for example ‘a watched pot never boils’ well of course it does! It just feels like it takes longer!

One that’s often used is that ‘you can’t get something for nothing’. Which really couldn’t be more untrue when it comes to using an outdoor gym. In fact, you could actually save 100’s of £’s a year on a gym membership by utilising an outdoor gym.

With over 40 pieces in the range and more than 2000 installations across the UK, it has never been easier to gain the same benefits of using an indoor gym in the great outdoors, for free!

Our equipment can be used by people of all ability levels, from beginners to advanced users. With ‘How to’ videos and a supporting app, everyone can follow a full body workout that’s right for them and reap the benefits of doing so. And of course, using an outdoor gym allows you to get regular exercise at a time that suits you, with the extra benefit of being out in the fresh air.

One of the most popular pieces in the range, and subsequently found in a large number of our outdoor gyms, is the Combination Pull Down Challenger and Seated Chest Press. This versatile piece allows the user to perform 2 different exercises on one piece of equipment. On one side you can predominately work the chest and triceps and on the other your back and biceps. The number of repetitions and sets can be varied by your ability and increased over time as you gain strength, for example a beginner may start at 1-4 repetitions and an advanced user 12-15. Completing 3-4 sets of this and you will certainly begin to see results.

The Elliptical Cross Trainer is often one of the most popular pieces of equipment in a gym, providing a cardio workout that gets the whole body moving, toning legs and arms along the way. It makes sense therefore that we have replicated this outdoors! Being very low impact on joints and working the upper and lower body simultaneously it's not hard to see why this is a great alternative to treadmill running. Great for beginners and advanced users, the speed and time spent on the outdoor cross trainer can be dictated by the user to ensure an appropriate workout. For example, a beginner could use the piece for 5-10 minutes initially at a leisurely pace and the advanced user could workout for 15-20 minutes at a quicker speed. Ensuring the workout is ability appropriate.

Exercise offers incredible benefits that can improve nearly every aspect of your health from the inside out. Regular physical activity can increase the production of hormones that make you feel happier and help you sleep better. It can also improve your skin's appearance, help you lose weight and keep it off and lessen the risk of chronic disease.

A Fresh Air Fitness outdoor gym is a brilliant way to ‘get something for nothing’, what's more, it could actually save you hundreds if used in place of a regular gym membership. Our free to use outdoor gyms can be found in parks up and down the country, why not give yours a go today!
