Q. ​What is a seated outdoor leg press, and how does it differ from traditional leg press machines?

The Seated Leg Press is a simple frame combine a moving seat and footplates built into the main frame.  Once seated, with both feet on the plates, the user simply push with their legs to move their seat away from the frame. This leg press offers the same benefits of a traditional leg press, and uses bodyweight as resistance. Additional resistance can be added by looping a resistance band from handle to handle, via the frame.

 

Q. ​What exercises can be performed on the seated outdoor leg press?

Double leg and single leg squats (presses) and calf raises can be performed on the leg press.

 

Q. ​What are the benefits of using a seated leg press?

The Seated Leg Press provides an excellent workout for calves, quads, hips and glutes. It’ll also develop flexibility and balance.

 

Q. ​Is the seated outdoor leg press suitable for users of all fitness levels?

Yes. People of all levels of fitness level from complete beginners to workout enthusiasts can use the leg press. It is very gentle on the joints and user can set their own pace, increasing reps and sets over time as strength develops. Advanced users can add further resistance with a band, this requires more strength to push away from the frame.

 

Q. ​How much space is needed to install the seated outdoor leg press?

At full stretch, the leg press is 3304mm long, 509mm wide and 2131mm High.  Ensuring adequate space between each piece of equipment is crucial for safety and usability. A minimum of 1.5 meters (or approximately 5 feet) between each product is recommended to allow users to move comfortably and safely between them.

 

Q. ​Can the seated outdoor leg press support users of different sizes and weights?

Users need to be at least 1.4m (approx 4ft 7in) tall to use the equipment.  There is no upper height limit, those with longer legs will simply push further away from the frame.  The maximum weight for using the leg press is 120Kg/ 264lbs.

 

Q. ​What maintenance is required for the seated outdoor leg press?

Our leg press requires very little maintenance, however, regular maintenance checks are essential to keep the equipment safe for use and in good working order. When your installation is complete, we will provide you with a maintenance pack and guide. Regular simple checks will help maintain it. Keep the floor surrounding the leg press clear of litter/ leaves. Each month lubricate the joints and check for any damage, if there is any report it to Fresh Air Fitness. Clean down surfaces with soapy water or wipes.
